Advent a Season of Hope

This Sunday, the first of the new liturgical year, we begin to celebrate the season of Advent.  Advent is a season of hope, culminating in the celebration of the birth of Jesus, which brings us the good news that we are loved unconditionally by God. This Sunday's Gospel is filled with hope, reminding us that, one day, Jesus will return.  Until that time, Saint Pio of Pietreclcina (Padre pio) reminds us, "Pray, hope and don't worry."  Advent is a great opportunity to be spiritually refreshed, to get rid of everything negative in life and make it altogether positive.  Now is the time to make a fresh start, to welcome the Lord and to be filled with hope.
