Little Way Week - Do Little Acts of Kindness with Great Love
This coming Sunday we welcome our new Reception children to the parish at the Mass at 10.30am. It would be wonderful to see as many of our other children in attendance in support too. As Fr. Des reminds us on a weekly basis 'Every Sunday.' In this Sunday's Gospel, we read about poor Lazarus, suffering at the rich man's gate. It is easy for us all to become so caught up in the busyness of life that sometimes we do not even notice the needs of others, or worse still, ignore them. Jesus repeatedly teaches us about fairness, sharing and kindness to others, particularly to the poor. Pope Francis reminds us that "A simple lifestyle is good for us, helping us to better share with those in need." The question we need to ask ourselves is: "How do I use what God has given me to help others?" So, lets not put off tomorrow the good that we can do today. Next week is 'Little Way Week' where we especially think about the needs of others and in being proactive to do small acts of kindness with great love and attention - this was the way of St. Therese of Liseux who we will look at as a school together in our Gospel Assembly on Monday morning.
CAFOD Harvest Day and Year 5 Assembly
Please join us next Friday (4th October) to celebrate CAFOD Harvest Day Assembly which will be led by our Year 5 children. We also ask for donations of fresh fruit and vegetables to be brought in on the morning of the assembly so that we can sell these and forward the money raised to CAFOD. Please support the needs of our brothers and sisters around the world.
