Thank you for supporting our Harvest Festival last Friday with your donations of fruit and other produce. The children looked wonderful in their bright clothes. We have raised £277.29 for CAFOD which will support communities in El Salvador.
On Wednesday, the children in St. Luke's House will be allowed to wear their own clothes including the colour green. Fr. Des will also celebrate Mass with the children at 2.15pm in the school hall. Please help the children to be reflective and reverent by ensuring that any younger siblings do not wander around during Mass. Thank you.
A reminder that a Mass of Enrolment for our Year 6 Confirmandi will be held this coming Sunday at OLAS starting at 10.30am. Parents of Year 6 children are asked to arrive at 10.15am. All members of our school community are very welcome to attend.

On Thursday a team of twelve children (girls and boys) from Years 5 and 6 took part in the first competitive sport event of the year. The tag rugby festival was held at Old Halesonians Rugby Club and included sixteen teams organised into four groups. St. Joseph's played against the three other teams in their group and won 5 -2, 5 - 0 and 5 -1 respectively. As winners of the group they automatically qualified for the next stage of this competition which will take place in March 2018. The team then played against Caslon School in the semi final and through excellent defensive team-work managed to win 3 -1. The final of the festival yesterday was a closely contested game with both sides displaying excellent support play and defensive skills. Unfortunately, a couple of break-away scores was enough to highlight the difference between the two teams, St. Joseph's losing 4 - 2. This is the first time in a number of years in which a team has progressed to the next round of this competition. Congratulations and well done to our competitors.
