Happy Half Term Year 2!
Today is our last day of learning before half term. Thank you for working so hard in these strange and unusal times. You are all incredible.
Click on my daily messages to find out what I want you to do today. Then scroll down the page to find the tasks for each subject. There are separate lesson videos for some subjects - please watch my daily morning message to find out which videos you need to watch each day.
I've added an optional reading activity for you to complete if you finished writing your instructions yesterday.
Please look at the "Year 2's Next Read' file under our reading banner. We need to choose our next class story book and I want to know what YOU would like to read. Have a look at the 5 suggestions and e-mail your ideas to me by Friday. I'm so excited to see what you choose!
Don't forget to look at our Instructions Sentence Stacking file to see the set of instructions we created together last week. It's amazing! It will help you with your writing this week too! Please note that the list of 'time' words to help with your writing is a separate file and not part of the main PDF file today.
If you are part of a RWI Group, please complete the RWI lessons and then look at the English actvities. These will mirror those being done by my English Group and all the videos you need to watch can be found under the English banner.
I know that working from home is not easy and your grown ups are juggling lots of things at the moment so you may not be able to finish all the tasks every day. Try to complete the Maths and English tasks if you can but please don't worry if you don't finish everything. Remember we all work at different levels, speeds and abilities. You just work to the best of yours! I'm always here to help, and can be contacted via our class e-mail address.
Don't forget to send lots of photos to me of all your work. I love seeing what you are up to.
Mrs Hounsell, Mrs Cheslin and I are so proud of how hard you are working at home. We love seeing what you have done. You are amazing Year 2.

Handwriting tasks for this week
This week we will begin to learn how to form letters in the Window Cleaner Family. These letters have a down - bump - flick movement. This is because our Brave and Scared Monkeys have watched a window cleaner washing windows. To wipe them off, he drags down a squeegee, 'Down-bump. Flick (the water off). He lets the monkeys have a go. Bounce the Brave Monkey stands on the ladder (which is the same height as his tree branch). Next Skip has a turn but because he is scared of heights he stands on the ground and reaches up with the squeegee (to the height of his branch). They discover, as they wipe the windows, they leave Letter Trails behind them.
This week we will learn the letters 'l' and 't' from thw Window Cleaner Family. I know you will be fantastic and I can't wait to see your fabulously formed letters in all your writing.
The videos for the Jumper and Abracadabra Families are still available if you want to continue to practise these letters too.
Follow the links below to watch Mrs Cangiano's video. Try to copy what Mrs Cangiano does in the videos and check that your letters are grounded.
On Monday and Tuesday, please practise 'l'
On Wednesday and Thursday please practise 't'
On Friday please practise any letters you found tricky this week.
