Being Attentive - Listening to God's Call

See the source image

In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus knows that household jobs are important, but he reminds us how important it is to take time to listen to God. Jesus does not force us to listen to him, but he knows what is best for us. Listening is a sign of real love – it is a powerful way of showing that we care.

This Gospel reminds us that rushing frantically around can stop us hearing the wisdom of Jesus. We need first to listen to Jesus, to be reminded of what is really important in life; then it is time to swing into action. As the summer holidays approach, explore ways that can help
your child to listen to Jesus in these coming weeks. Perhaps your child can: remember to have quiet times in prayer when they wake up, at bedtime or some other time – just for listening to God as he speaks to your heart; go to Church together; regularly read the gospels in this Wednesday Word Summer Special together. What other ways can your child think of?

NHS Heatwave Guidance

With the extreme temperatures forecast for this coming Monday and Tuesday, all children will be allowed to wear their PE kits to school on these two days. Year 6 will be able to change from their uniform into their PE it after their Leavers' Assembly on Tuesday. Please also ensure that you apply sun cream onto your child/ren before school and that they bring with them a water bottle and sun hat/cap.  We are also going to reduce the time that the children are outside and exposed to the sun.  Any PE lessons will also take place in the morning and will be lighter in terms of intensity.

George The Stourbridge Junction Cat - Visit by Year 2

Image preview

We have Had the pleasure of a wonderful visit from a group of Year 2 pupils this morning which was such an absolute delight.

They had come to visit the station, take a ride on the Shuttle Train and more importantly visit George The Stourbridge Junction Cat- sadly George was out on “pawtrol” but he did prepare a letter for them.

They presented George with a beautiful book in which they had all written stories about George and it was beautifully illustrated too, we cannot thank them enough for taking the time to create such a masterpiece which indeed will be treasured forever.

I hope they all enjoyed their visit, we certainly enjoyed having them visit us.

Thank you so much

Kind regards

Station Manager- Stourbridge Line

Living with Covid Guidance

On Tuesday 29th March, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Sajid Javid, set out the next steps for living with COVID-19 in England from Friday 1st April.

Free COVID-19 tests will continue to be available for specific groups, including eligible patients and NHS staff, once the universal testing offer ends on Friday 1st April.

Updated guidance will advise:

·         adults with the symptoms of a respiratory infection, and who have a high temperature or feel unwell, should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people until they feel well enough to resume normal activities and they no longer have a high temperature

·         children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can go back to school, college or childcare when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend

·         adults with a positive COVID-19 test result should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days, which is when they are most infectious. For children and young people aged 18 and under, the advice will be 3 days.

For education and childcare settings from Friday 1st April:

·         regular asymptomatic testing is no longer recommended in any education or childcare setting, including in SEND, alternative provision and children's social care settings. Therefore, settings will no longer be able to order test kits

·         residential SEND settings may be advised by their local health protection team to re-introduce some time-limited asymptomatic testing. This would be an exceptional measure, for targeted groups of staff and pupils or students (secondary age or above) in the event of a possible COVID-19 outbreak. These settings are scheduled to receive an automatic delivery of contingency supply test kits during the week commencing Monday 28 March

·         the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) will publish new guidance. Most of the specific COVID-19 guidance for education and childcare settings will be withdrawn from GOV.UK on Friday 1 April. The operational guidance on the testing in education settings document sharing platform will also be removed on the same day.

JULY

For the elderly

We pray for the elderly, who represent the roots and memory of a people; may their experience and wisdom help young people to look towards the future with hope and responsibility.
