Message from the School Principal

See the source image

I would like to take this opportunity to say a big 'thank you' to all members of our school community.

To all staff at St. Joseph's - for their continued commitment and support to all our children and their families

To all volunteers - members of the PTA and governors - for their knowledge, experience and time for helping all children at St. Joseph's

To all parents - for their constant support and partnership with the school

To our parish priest - for his spiritual guidance and support to all members of our community

To all our children - for their hard-work and effort to be the best that they can be in all that they have done this year.

I am so proud and blessed to be the Principal of St. Joseph's, and in my vocation to be the leader of such an amazing Catholic school.

I do wish every member of our school community a well-deserved and joyful summer summer, and look forward to working in collaboration together again in September 2022 and beyond.

Stay safe and God Bless.

Mr Carry

This Week's Gospel message

See the source image

In this Sunday’s Gospel, what does Jesus teach the disciples (and us) to call God?

Jesus wants us to know that God is our 'Father' too - who loves us and cares for us. Our prayers to God our Father should be often and loving, just as a young child talks to their parent/s. The prayer in this Sunday’s Gospel is the shorter version of the Lord’s Prayer (the ‘Our Father’) – a model of praying for us to follow. What were the first prayers you learned?

In the Lord’s Prayer we ask God to forgive us in the same way that we forgive others. As the summer break is about to begin, is there anyone you need to forgive? Is there anyone whose forgiveness you would like?

During the summer holidays, read through the Wednesday Word each week as a family together and share in the Good News of Jesus.

End of Year Report Feedback Form

See the source image

Thank you to the parents of 54 children who have completed the end of year report feedback form.  It would be fantastic to have more than a 25% return so that we have a more accurate reflection from our parents.  Please complete the survey via the link below (for each child) so that we can review with staff and governors what is going well and how we can improve here at St. Joseph's.  Thank you.

Living with Covid Guidance

On Tuesday 29th March, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Sajid Javid, set out the next steps for living with COVID-19 in England from Friday 1st April.

Free COVID-19 tests will continue to be available for specific groups, including eligible patients and NHS staff, once the universal testing offer ends on Friday 1st April.

Updated guidance will advise:

·         adults with the symptoms of a respiratory infection, and who have a high temperature or feel unwell, should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people until they feel well enough to resume normal activities and they no longer have a high temperature

·         children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can go back to school, college or childcare when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend

·         adults with a positive COVID-19 test result should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days, which is when they are most infectious. For children and young people aged 18 and under, the advice will be 3 days.

For education and childcare settings from Friday 1st April:

·         regular asymptomatic testing is no longer recommended in any education or childcare setting, including in SEND, alternative provision and children's social care settings. Therefore, settings will no longer be able to order test kits

·         residential SEND settings may be advised by their local health protection team to re-introduce some time-limited asymptomatic testing. This would be an exceptional measure, for targeted groups of staff and pupils or students (secondary age or above) in the event of a possible COVID-19 outbreak. These settings are scheduled to receive an automatic delivery of contingency supply test kits during the week commencing Monday 28 March

·         the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) will publish new guidance. Most of the specific COVID-19 guidance for education and childcare settings will be withdrawn from GOV.UK on Friday 1 April. The operational guidance on the testing in education settings document sharing platform will also be removed on the same day.

JULY

For the elderly

We pray for the elderly, who represent the roots and memory of a people; may their experience and wisdom help young people to look towards the future with hope and responsibility.
